What the agency licence allows
Every client project
You use the chat on any number of websites you build or maintain for clients, and adapt it there.
One account, no domain binding
The licence is unlocked for your Widget Storm account. You set up each client site with the files from your Station.
One clear limit
You may not pass on or sell the code as a product of its own, also not inside a theme, plugin or site builder. Section 5a of our terms applies (in German).
What your clients get
- The transcript is stored AES-256 encrypted on your client’s server, as an SQLite database or a file.
- In standard mode, chat messages do not pass through widget-storm.de. All we deliver is the widget code, and it then stays on the client’s server.
- No iframe, no third-party cookies. Only once a visitor writes does the chat store a signed conversation ID in the browser.
- An operator view in the browser: whoever holds the site’s key sees the conversations and replies. After eight wrong keys it blocks further attempts for up to 15 minutes.
- Interface in German or English. You set title and greeting in the embed code.
- PHP 7.0 or later with openssl and curl is enough. No framework, no database to set up.
This is what visitors see. The demo runs on this page and stores nothing.
How the chat gets onto a client site
- Order the licence. With your Widget Storm account; signing up is free. The licence is unlocked when the payment arrives.
- Two files on the client’s server. You download
wgclient.phpandwghandler.phpin your Station and put them in the root directory of the client site. - Embed. Copy the ready embed code from your Station: one line at the top of the PHP page, one where the chat should appear.
- Set up and hand over. The first call with
?wg_chat_key=sets the operator key. Your client’s server keeps it only as a hash; we do not know it.

Businesses only (section 14 German Civil Code). There is therefore no right of withdrawal.
Payment via Stripe. Before you pay, the order page shows every detail. We send the invoice to your company by e-mail. Our terms apply (in German), for the agency licence section 5a.
Only for your own website? The single licence for €4.99 is enough.
Questions from agencies
Does the chat keep running if widget-storm.de is unreachable?
Yes. After the first fetch, the widget code is stored on your client’s server. At most once an hour it asks us for a newer version; if that fails, the code it has keeps running.
Who can see the conversations?
Whoever holds the operator key of that site. The conversations are stored encrypted on your client’s server; in standard mode Widget Storm does not see them.
Do I need an account or a licence per client?
No. One agency licence covers every website you build or maintain for clients.
Do I get an invoice?
Yes, by e-mail, made out to your company and address. As a small business under section 19 of the German VAT Act we do not charge VAT.
Why is there no right of withdrawal?
We sell the agency licence to businesses only. The statutory right of withdrawal applies to consumers.
